"Before I called The Scott ©, I knew I was about to die from mass doses of fentanyl in 2 forms prescribed by a doctor for severe chronic and acute pain. Every rehab I called would not accept me, or had unreasonable goals such as detoxing me in a week. I was 21 at the time, none of my doctors/medical professionals had ever seen anyone on as many drugs, and still haven’t. When I asked the prescribing doctor what to do he told me to go to a rehab which would not accept me because there is no frame of reference for the conversions of the transdermal and sublingual medications and fentanyl is so potent. He wanted to remove a rib and promised me a coma detox. I asked “What do you expect me to do, just die on the drugs?” His answer was “Yes”. This was not the first time I was on or off prescribed opiates, oxycontin was a cake walk, dliaudid- no problem, just about everything you can think of including a much smaller dose of fentanyl. I knew I would occasionally need opiates for pain and rapid detox would not be an option. Fentanyl is 90-100 times the potency of morphine, heroin and dilaudid being 5-8x and oxycontin being the same as morphine, roughly. The detox was risky and needed medical supervision that I couldn’t find. My Mother had me write my will and I had almost accepted my death, but I told my Mom how much I wanted to get off and live. Things looked very grim, in a final attempt to find a place my Mom used her smartphone and learned of The Scott ©. I called Kat that night and with in a few days she had a great doctor and life saving nurse who stayed in my house the whole time I detoxed for almost 2 months. I was green, struggling to walk/stand and they agreed I had about a week left in me. Despite all of this, everything went really well including finishing with suboxone. My nurse said I could stay on suboxone, despite him rarely telling a patient to stay on opiates after a detox. I declined, and now its almost been a year and now I never use opiates at all. This was a total custom detox for me and they came to my house, I was in no shape to fly at that point. There was really no element of mental drug addiction for me, so relapse was not a possibility so I cannot speak to that element of the detox, but the medical care from The Scott © was obviously what saved my life. I am in physical therapy now, my nurse says I am doing better than he thought I would do for 3-4 years. I owe all of this to that phone call, it was life or death and about 50 rehabs turned me down, but Kat saw the seriousness of my situation and got me the help I needed to do better than I could have dreamed. I am still in contact with the concierge doctor and nurse, and see them a few times a year at my house. I dont remember much of my detox, which I know is a good thing. I never vomited with enough zofran and I did not throw up once. The detox was well paced enough for me to not get really sick from it, I am convinced it needed to be this personalized because of the unheard of doses of fentanyl. The Scott © did exactly that, I am now relatively healthy. They didn’t make me jump through any hoops like going to AA meetings in the middle of detox, and every other facility treated you like a drug addict criminal. I was very well taken care of and not treated like a drug addict for taking my prescribed medications."
